Aster House holds twenty-two guest rooms on the Big Sur coast of California. That number is the whole design brief: few enough that the house never feels like a hotel, enough that every part of it, the restaurant, the treatment rooms, the trails, can stay open to the people staying here.
Everything faces the same direction. The Pacific sets the light in the morning, the weather in the afternoon, and the pace of the whole day.

The house was built around its outlook. Guest rooms take the Pacific Ocean view, and the quiet that comes with a property this size.
